SeaDry container desiccants from ThoMar were originally designed as high-performance desiccants specifically for moisture protection of sea freight transported in containers. Especially for sensitive goods, a dry environment is important to safely protect them from potential moisture damage. SeaDry is the suitable container desiccant for, e.g., engine parts, steel coils, furniture, and all goods in sales packaging, including packaged food products.
In addition to the transport of sea freight, SeaDry is also ideally suited for use in warehousing or prefabricated construction. SeaDry is used wherever excessive humidity in larger, enclosed spaces must be controlled. The products are distributed evenly in the container, enclosed storage space, or modular construction space to ensure optimal protection against moisture. With all SeaDry products, you can rely on the highest quality – Made in Germany. Of course, all ingredients are REACH-compliant, and no DMF is contained.
All SeaDry products contain a special mixture of calcium chloride and starch with a very high water absorption capacity of over 200%. The moisture is drawn from the ambient air in the container, so that the humidity drops to a non-critical level. The risk of transport damage or damage during long storage periods due to moisture, e.g., corrosion, mold, softened cardboard packaging, and detached labels, is significantly minimized. The absorbed humidity is immediately bound as a gel by the contained starch to prevent water from leaking out of the bags.
In all SeaDry variants, the front or top side consists of an HDPE fleece (high-density polyethylene), through which humidity can enter the desiccant but cannot escape. The back or bottom side consists of a moisture-impermeable multilayer film.
