Loose silica gel is a versatile desiccant used to protect against moisture in technical and industrial applications. The material consists of fine-pored, spherical silica gel (silicon dioxide) with a large internal surface area and absorbs up to 30–40% of its own weight in moisture – ideal for adsorbing water vapour or humidity from gases and the ambient air.

Typical areas of application are industrial drying plants, compressed air systems, laboratories and pressure equalisation vessels. It can be used flexibly, e.g. in fillings, containers or fluidised bed systems – depending on the application on site.

Supplied in larger packaging units, the product is optimally designed for commercial drying processes with recurring regeneration cycles.
