Challenge: moisture in ground-level luminaire housings
When the luminaire is switched off, the housing cools down and negative pressure is created. This draws in moist ambient air via seals or micro-cracks, which then condenses on the cold interior surfaces. Even with high-quality, IP-protected luminaires, this effect can hardly be avoided over time, especially with frequent temperature changes outdoors. The consequences range from fogged light surfaces and electrical failures to shortened luminaire service life.
