Use of silica gel in drying systems

In the production of hygroscopic powders such as nutritional supplements, functional foods, or pharmaceutical products, dry air is crucial for consistent quality and smooth processing. Even minor moisture influences can lead to clumping, poor dispensability, or production disruptions.

Challenge: moisture in sensitive filling processes

The moment of filling is particularly critical, as the powder comes into unprotected contact with the ambient air. Even in sealed-off areas of the systems, residual moisture cannot be completely avoided – especially with temperature changes or after periods of downtime.

Solution: Dehumidification with loose silica gel as bulk material

To keep the air in the filling area permanently dry, loose silica gel as bulk material is used – for example, in industrial air dryers or specially designed plant modules.

Result: Stable product quality in production

The highly effective granules reduce the relative humidity to a level harmless to the sensitive product, even before contact occurs. This reliably prevents condensation and moisture accumulation and ensures a consistently dry production environment.
