Desiccant use without inflowing ambient air

In product packaging – or when goods are packed in cardboard boxes or export crates – items such as electronics, household goods, automotive parts, foodstuffs, leather goods, machine components, medical devices, metal parts, furniture, injection-moulded parts, textiles, 3D printing filaments and many more should be protected against moisture damage during storage and transport. This applies both to goods enclosed in additional plastic packaging and to breathable packaging concepts that deliberately avoid supplementary films or PE bags. To prevent mould, electrical damage, corrosion, mildew stains or unpleasant odours from developing inside the packaging, so-called inbox desiccants are used.
For packaging without an additional film barrier layer, the BoxDryy® high-performance desiccant is suitable, offering particularly strong moisture absorption. When additional foil packaging is used, the proven Desi Dry silica gel packets are a suitable choice. They are available in various sachet sizes, wrapping materials, and with or without saturation indicators. Or you can use our CertiDry desiccant according to DIN 55473. The latter contain dry clay and their minimum absorption capacity, the packaging units or even the labelling are stipulated in the above-mentioned standard.
